Employment History:

Net Connex - February 1997 - Present

Owner – As the owner of Net Connex I provide training and consulting on Microsoft server platforms including SQL Server, .Net, Windows Azure, Silverlight and Windows Phone 7. I provide these services for a select client list that includes Microsoft, Dell, VMWare, Raytheon, Wells Fargo, California State Legislature, San Diego Sheriff’s Department and hundreds of others.

 

I regularly deliver training both onsite as well as on-line.  I have thousands of hours of experience both in the classroom, and online using products like Live Meeting, WebEx, Adobe Connect Pro and others.

 

Key accomplishments at Net Connex include:

 

  • Teaching Yahoo new hire transfers at Microsoft’s Mountain View campus on .NET and SQL Server
  • Developed SQL Server BI courseware and provided contract training services for Pluralsight
  • Developed Windows Azure,and Windows Phone 7 video courses for publication via AppDev
  • Developed a “Comprehensive Silverlight 4” course for Webucator

Vortex Learning Solutions - December 2007 - December 2008

Director of IT / SPECIAL PROJECTS – I was Responsible for managing Vortex's IT infrastructure as well as the training staff. In addition I continued to deliver classroom training. I delivered multiple courses for Microsoft on behalf of United Training and Asentus. I developed custom curriculum and courses for Vortex customers.

Ping IT - October 2006 - September 2007

Director of Engineering – Ping IT is an IT service company supporting clients that range in size from 1 to 50 users.  In my role I supported engineering staff on client projects, as well as conducted both IT and development services for clients.  Additional accomplishments include the implementation of Microsoft CRM 3.0 and SharePoint for in-house use.

Tax Compliance, Inc. - January 2006 - September 2006

Senior .Net DevelopER / DBA – I was Responsible for the SQL Server back-end of a production property tax management system. Key tasks included change management on database schema as well as for the database documentation, and the creation of database upgrade scripts to support each release. I was also responsible for the development of a prototype of a business license management web product.

Vortex Data Systems - May 1998 - August 2000

Instructor - Microsoft Certified Trainer responsible for delivering Microsoft Official Curriculum to Vortex customers. I was the staff trainer for the Microsoft SQL Server curriculum, and expanded Vortex's in-house development training capabilities. In addition to SQL Server, I conducted courses on other Microsoft products such as Windows Operating Systems, and Development tools. Responsibilities outside the classroom included course image preparation using multiple imaging products, managing multiple internal SQL Server databases, developing applications for both the intranet and extranet, and providing other technical services.

National Pen Corporation - October 1994 - February 1997
Electronic Marketing Manager – I was responsible for developing and implementing the National Pen internet presence, as well as a number of electronic marketing efforts including customized software products, fax back systems, and internal marketing efforts. I developed applications using ASP, CGI, Java, HTML, and worked with graphics applications to develop a cohesive Web environment that included integration into backend systems. I was also responsible for training staff on the implementation and management of the systems.

National Pen Corporation - October 1991 - October 1994

WAN Services Director – I was responsible for the management of international Wide Area Network and the LAN managers at all sites. I managed dedicated and dial-up WAN connections, defined corporate hardware and software standards, implemented and maintained corporate wide electronic mail systems. I maintained Platinum accounting software and BTRIEVE databases. I Managed the LAN side of a System 38 to LAN downsizing effort, and Implemented Windows 3.1 as the standard operating system on the network. Finally I was responsible for user training and course and curriculum development.

Overbyte Computers Corporation - April 1990 - October 1991

Service Representative – I was responsible for all technical support in San Diego County. I obtained my Novell CNE certification and was responsible for In-house and customer network management. I participated in bid and proposal preparation, product line and standards development. I gained experience with a wide variety of network topologies, operating systems, and hardware, and developed strong customer support habits.

IBM 1989 - 1990

PS/2 Collegiate Rep – I was responsible for IBM PS/2 sales to San Diego Community College District.
